The Rail Roster

Terms of Service

Effective date: August 1, 2026 · Last updated: October 17, 2026

Welcome to The Rail Roster ("the Service"), a web application for cataloging model-train collections, operated by The Rail Roster ("we," "us") . By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

1. What the Service is

The Rail Roster helps you catalog, organize, value, and share your model-train collection. Your collection data and photos are stored in your own Google account (Google Sheets and Google Drive) — not on our servers. We provide the software that reads and writes that data at your direction.

2. Your account

You sign in with your Google account. You're responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure. You must be at least 18 to subscribe.

3. Trial, subscription, and billing

4. Your data is yours

Everything you catalog — items, values, notes, photos — lives in your Google Sheet and Drive and belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it. Delete the app's access anytime in your Google account settings; your data stays with you.

5. Community data (optional)

If you opt in, the Service may share anonymous catalog information (such as item numbers, conditions, and identification results — never your name, email, or collection totals) to improve the shared reference catalog for all collectors. You can opt out in Preferences at any time.

6. Reference information — no guarantees

The master catalog, variation descriptions, year and identification suggestions, and any linked reference material are provided for convenience and may contain errors or omissions. The Service is not a price guide and reports generated by it are not certified appraisals. Always verify important details independently before buying, selling, or insuring.

7. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to break the law, infringe others' rights, resell or scrape the reference catalog, probe or disrupt the Service, or share your subscription across multiple people. We may suspend accounts that do.

8. Disclaimers and limits on liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data held in your own Google account; our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Changes and termination

We may update these terms; if we make material changes we'll notify you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. You may stop using the Service at any time. We may discontinue the Service with at least 90 days' notice — and because your data lives in your own Google account, it stays with you even then.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Questions: support@therailroster.com.
